The Advanced MCACC menu
Important
• The pr ocedu r e fo r setting the r eceive r o p e r ation
mode diffe r s fo r the r emote cont r ols included with
the SC-37 and SC-35. Fo r the SC-37’s r emote cont r ol,
set the r emote cont r ol o p e r ation selecto r switch to
RECEIVER
. Fo r the SC-35’s r emote cont r ol, pr ess the
button. When “set the r emote cont r ol to
the r eceive r o p e r ation mode” is indicated in these
inst r uctions, use the r es p ective pr ocedu r e desc r ibed
above.
Making receiver settings from the
Advanced MCACC menu
The Advanced MCACC (Multi Channel ACoustic
Calib
r ation) system was develo p ed in Pionee r ’s
labo r ato r ies with the aim of making it p ossible fo r home
use r s to p e r fo r m adjustments of the same level as in a
studio easily and with high pr ecision. The acoustic
cha r acte r istics of the listening envi r onment a r e
measu r ed and the f r equency r es p onse is calib r ated
acco r dingly to allow high pr ecision, automatic analysis
and o p timal calib r ation of the sound field to b r ing it
close r to a studio envi r onment than eve r befo r e.
Fu r the r mo r e, while it was pr eviously difficult to eliminate
standing waves, this r eceive r is equi pp ed with a standing
wave cont r ol function using a unique pr ocess to p e r fo r m
acoustic analysis and r educe thei r influence.
This section desc r ibes how to calib r ate the sound field
automatically and fine-adjust the sound field data
manually.
1 Switch on the receiver and your TV.
Make su r e that the TV’s video in p ut is set to this r eceive r .
2 Set the remote control to the receiver operation
mode, then press HOME MENU.

confi r m and exit the cu rr ent menu.
• P r ess HOME MENU at any time to exit the Home
Menu .
3 Select ‘Advanced MCACC’ from the Home Menu,
then press ENTER.
4 Select the setting you want to adjust.

Manual MCACC setup
on p age 106).

When the s p eake r s a r e connected to this r eceive r ,
the test tone is out p ut r e p eatedly. P r ess

cancel the test tone.
Automatic MCACC (Expert)
If you r setu p r equi r es mo r e detailed settings than those
pr ovided in
Automatically conducting optimum sound
tuning (Full Auto MCACC)
on p age 43, you can customize
you r setu p o p tions below. You can calib r ate you r system
diffe r ently fo r u p to six diffe r ent MCACC pr esets, which
a r e useful if you have diffe r ent listening p ositions
de p ending on the ty p e of sou r ce (fo r exam p le, watching
movies f r om a sofa, o r p laying a video game close to the
TV).
Important
• Make su r e the mic r o p hone/s p eake r s a r e not moved
du r ing the Auto MCACC Setu p .
• The sc r een save r will automatically a pp ea r afte r five
minutes of inactivity.
CAUTION
• The test tones used in the Auto MCACC Setu p a r e
out p ut at high volume.
