About the Remote Setup menu
The Remote Setu p mode is set by pr essing the numbe r
button while pr essing R.SETUP . The diffe r ent items on
the Remote Setu p menu a r e desc r ibed below. Fo r thei r
setting pr ocedu r es, r efe r to the ex p lanations fo r the
r es p ective items.
Note
• You can cancel o r exit any of the ste p s by pr essing
R.SETUP .
• Afte r one minute of inactivity, the r emote
automatically exits the o p e r ation.
Operating multiple receivers
U p to fou r r eceive r s can be o p e r ated disc r etely using this
r eceive r 's r emote cont r ol when using multi p le r eceive r s,
pr ovided they a r e of the same model as this r eceive r . The
r eceive r to be o p e r ated is switched by in p utting the
pr eset code to set the r emote cont r ol setting.
• Set the r emote modes on the r eceive r s befo r e using
this function (see Remote Control Mode Setup on
p age 119).
1 Press and hold R.SETUP, then press “4” for three
seconds.
The LED flashes continuously.

2 Press the number button for the receiver (“Receiver
1” to “Receiver 4”) you wish to operate.
Fo r exam p le, to o p e r ate “Receive r 2”, pr ess “ 2 ”.
If the LED lights fo r one second, the setting has been
successfully com p leted.
When the pr eset code is in p ut, the LED flashes th r ee
times to indicate that the setting has failed.

functions. The r emote cont r ol codes of a numbe r
of othe r devices (including pr oducts of othe r
b r ands) a r e pr eset in the r emote cont r ol to allow
these devices to be o p e r ated. See “Selecting

learning If the desi r ed o p e r ations cannot be p e r fo r med
even though you have set the pr eset codes, the
r emote cont r ol signals of othe r devices can be
lea r ned di r ectly. See “P r og r amming signals f r om

Multi
operation A se r ies of the r emote cont r ol o p e r ations fo r
sta r ting listening o r viewing can be pr og r ammed.
Multi p le r emote cont r ol codes can be set fo r the

System off This is a function fo r automatically tu r ning off the
p owe r of devices connected to the r eceive r .

Direct
function This is a setting fo r changing only the r emote
cont r ol unit’s o p e r ation sc r een, without changing
the r eceive r ’s in p ut, when the r emote cont r ol
unit’s in p ut function buttons a r e pr essed. This is
convenient fo r using the r emote cont r ol unit fo r
devices not connected to the r eceive r . See “Di r ect
function” on p age 98.
Erase
learning This function is used to e r ase r emote cont r ol
codes that have been lea r ned. Codes lea r ned fo r
the diffe r ent in p ut functions can be e r ased
individually. See “E r asing one of the r emote
cont r ol button settings” on p age 98.
Back light The backlight lighting p atte r n can be selected
f r om among fou r modes, in conside r ation of
convenience and batte r y se r vice life. See “Setting
the backlight mode” on p age 99.
Reset
function
This is a function fo r r esetting pr eset codes that
have been set. Key r esetting can be done fo r
individual in p ut functions. See “E r asing all lea r nt
settings that a r e in one in p ut function” on p age 98.

unit settings you have made to the defaults set

mode
If you have multi p le Pionee r r eceive r s, am p lifie r s,
etc., this setting can be used to pr event othe r units
f r om o p e r ating simultaneously when the r emote
cont r ol unit is o p e r ated. See “O p e r ating multi p le
r eceive r s” on p age 96.
