HDMI Setup
You must adjust the settings of this r eceive r as well as the
connected
Control
with HDMI-com p atible com p onents
in o r de r to make use of the
Control
with HDMI function.
Fo r mo r e info r mation see the o p e r ating inst r uctions fo r
each com p onent.
1 Set the remote control to the receiver operation
mode, then press HOME MENU.
2 Select ‘System Setup’, then press ENTER.
3 Select ‘Other Setup’, then press ENTER.
4 Select ‘HDMI Setup’, then press ENTER.
5 Select the ‘Control’ setting you want.
Choose whethe r to set this unit’s Control with HDMI
function
ON
o r
OFF
. You will need to set it to
ON
to use
the
Control
with HDMI function.
When using a com p onent that does not su pp o r t the
Control with HDMI function, set this to OFF .
• ON – Enables the Control with HDMI function. When
this unit’s p owe r is tu r ned off and you have a
su pp o r ted sou r ce begin p layback while using the
Control with HDMI function, the audio and video
out p uts f r om the HDMI connection a r e out p ut f r om
the TV.
•
OFF
– The
Control
with HDMI is disabled.
Synch r onized o p e r ations cannot be used. When this
unit’s p owe r is tu r ned off, audio and video of sou r ces
connected via HDMI a r e not out p ut.
6 Select the ‘Control Mode’ setting you want.
Choose whethe r you want to enable HDMI fo r all linked
functions o r the PQLS function only. Howeve r , Dis p lay
Powe r Off will activate the settings set fo r th in ste p 7
below.
• ALL – Enabled fo r all linked functions.
•
PQLS
– Enabled only fo r the PQLS function. When
PQLS
is selected, link functions othe r than the PQLS
function may not wo r k pr o p e r ly. If you wish to use all
link functions, select
ALL
.
7 Select the ‘Display Power Off’ setting you want.
If the TV’s p owe r is tu r ned off while using the Control
with HDMI function, the r eceive r ’s p owe r is also tu r ned
off (all p owe r off function). This function can be disabled.
• YES – The all p owe r off function is enabled. The
r eceive r ’s p owe r tu r ns off togethe r with the TV’s
p owe r .
This function only wo r ks when the in p ut fo r a
com p onent connected to the r eceive r by HDMI
connection is selected o r when watching the TV.
•
NO
– The all p owe r off function is disabled. The
r eceive r ’s p owe r is not affected when the TV’s p owe r
is tu r ned off.
8 Select the ‘Standby Through’ setting you want.
It is p ossible to t r ansfe r signals f r om an HDMI-connected
p laye r to the TV when this r eceive r 's p owe r is on standby
as long as
Control
is
ON
, but the amount of ene r gy
consumed r ises. It is, howeve r , p ossible to minimize
ene r gy consum p tion when p owe r is set to standby.
• Normal – Regula r setting. Powe r -u p time f r om
standby is sho r t.
• Eco – Conse r ves ene r gy while standby. Powe r -u p
time is longe r than when set to Normal .
9 Select the ‘TV Audio’ setting you want.
When a TV su pp o r ting the HDMI Audio Retu r n Channel
function is connected to the r eceive r , the sound of the TV
can be in p ut via the HDMI te r minal.
• Normal – The TV’s sound is in p ut f r om the Audio
in p ut te r minals othe r than HDMI in p uts.
• via HDMI – The TV’s sound is in p ut via the HDMI
te r minal. This can only be selected when Control is
set to ON .
10 Select the ‘12V Trigger’ setting you want.
The com p onent connected to the 12V TRIGGER jack can
be tu r ned on and off when HDMI OUT is switched. HDMI

can be selected. Select
OFF
when you want the com p onent to switch when the in p ut
function is switched.
11 When you’re finished, press HOME MENU.
Before using synchronization
Once you have finished all connections and settings, you
must:
1 Put all components into standby mode.
2 Turn the power on for all components, with the
power for the TV being turned on last.
3 Choose the HDMI input to which the TV is
connected to this receiver, and see if video output from
connected components displays properly on the screen
or not.
4 Check whether the components connected to all
HDMI inputs are properly displayed.
