Precision Distance (SC-37 only)
Befo r e using this function, p e r fo r m the Full Auto MCACC
Setu p pr ocedu r e (see p age 43). Pe r fo r ming the Full Auto
MCACC pr ocedu r e co rr ects the distance to a pr ecision of

inch, but the P r ecision Distance function lets you
adjust the distance to the s p eake r s (thei r p osition) with a
pr ecision of unde r

/
2
inch. He r e, r athe r than co rr ect the
nume r ical value of the distance, actually move the
p hysical p ositions of the s p eake r s to fine-adjust (the
subwoofe r cannot be adjusted). The in p ut f r om the
mic r o p hone is indicated on the sc r een. Fine-adjust the
p ositions of the s p eake r s so that the gauge r eading is
maximum. The detailed distance adjustments that we r e
pr eviously p e r fo r med by skilled installe r s by ea r can
easily be p e r fo r med watching the gauge on the monito r .
Place the mic r o p hone in the same p osition as when the
mic r o p hone was connected and the Full Auto MCACC
o p e r ation was p e r fo r med.
1 Select ‘Precision Distance’ from the Manual
MCACC setup menu.
2 Fine-adjust the positions of the speakers in
sequence, starting from the front right channel.

mic r o p hone. Watch the sc r een when doing so, and fine-
adjust the p ositions of the s p eake r s so that the gauge
r eading is maximum. Also, the channel se r ving as the
standa r d diffe r s acco r ding to the channel being
adjusted. Do not move the s p eake r se r ving as the
standa r d channel.
The maximum gauge r eading is 10.0. (If the r eading stays
unde r 10.0, adjust the s p eake r fo r the maximum value.)
3 When you’re finished, press RETURN.
You will r etu r n to the Manual MCACC setu p menu.
Checking MCACC Data
At the pr ocedu r e of Automatically conducting optimum
sound tuning (Full Auto MCACC)

you can check you r calib r ated settings using the GUI
sc r een. The data can be t r ansfe rr ed to a com p ute r using
a USB device to check it on the com p ute r ’s sc r een as
well.
1 Set the remote control to the receiver operation
mode, then press HOME MENU.

Note
1 • If the mic r o p hone is p laced in a diffe r ent p osition f r om when the Auto MCACC pr ocedu r e was p e r fo r med, it may not be p ossible to adjust pr o p e r ly. In
this case, we r ecommend p e r fo r ming the pr ocedu r e at
Fine Speaker Distance
on p age 107 in the Auto MCACC custom measu r ements, then p e r fo r ming the
adjustment desc r ibed he r e without moving the mic r o p hone.
• The adjustment he r e is fo r adjusting fo r an e rr o r of 1/2 inch o r less (not adjustable with the Auto MCACC Setu p ). 0.0 may be dis p layed afte r distance
co rr ection with the Auto MCACC Setu p , but even in this case this adjustment allows you to o p timize the co rr ection. Note that if the Auto MCACC Setu p is
p e r fo r med afte r com p leting the fine-adjustment he r e, the co rr ection pr ecision will d r o p to about 1/2 inch.
• Like with the Auto MCACC Setu p , p e r fo r m this adjustment in as quiet an envi r onment as p ossible. 0.0 will be dis p layed if ab r u p t noise is in p ut du r ing the
adjustment.
• The distance fo
r all the channels can only be made unifo r m even if the R (f r ont r ight) channel is adjusted in the pr o p e r o r de r .
• Be ve r y ca r eful not to ti p the s p eake r s ove r when moving them.
• The r esult of the adjustment p e r fo r med he r e can be checked by listening to the test p ulses out p ut at the
Precision Distance (SC-37 only)
(the test p ulses
will be mo r e cent r ally p ositioned between the s p eake r s than befo r e the adjustment was p e r fo r med). Be ca r eful not to change the distance values at this
time.
