Setting the remote control operation
mode
• Default setting:
ON
When the r emote cont r ol o p e r ation mode is tu r ned on
and the r eceive r ’s in p ut is switched, the r emote cont r ol
dis p lay and o p e r ation mode switch automatically to that
in p ut. Select OFF if you do not want the r emote cont r ol’s
function to switch automatically when the r eceive r ’s
in p ut is switched.

1 While pressing MULTI OPERATION, press HOME
MENU.
The r emote dis p lay shows SETUP MENU .
2 Use
/
to select ‘OPERATION MODE’, then press
ENTER.
Check that the units a r e p ai r ed. If
SYNCHRO ON
is
dis p layed, p ai r ing has been p e r fo r med pr o p e r ly, so
pr oceed to ste p 3. If
RF MODE ONLY
flashes, p ai r ing has
not been p e r fo r med pr o p e r ly, so p e r fo r m this pr ocedu r e
again afte r p e r fo r ming p ai r ing (see
Pairing the RF adapter
and remote control
on p age 92).
3 Use
/
to select ‘SYNCHRO ON’ or ‘SYNCHRO
OFF’, then press ENTER.
The r emote dis p lay shows OK to confi r m the setting.
4 Press and hold MULTI OPERATION for a couple of
seconds to exit and store the operation(s).
Precautions when using the Omni-
Directional RF Remote Control
Precautions regarding wavelength
• This r emote cont r ol is designed to pr event othe r
p e r sons f r om eavesd r o pp ing on the t r ansmitted
signals, but pr ecautions should nonetheless be
taken against the chance that othe r p e r sons’ could
inte r ce p t and listen to the signals t r ansmitted. Given
that this r emote cont r ol pr oduces r adio wave
t r ansmissions, anothe r p e r son could delibe r ately use
a r eceive r to attem p t to inte r ce p t such t r ansmissions.
As a r esult, this device should not be used to p lay
im p o r tant t r ansmissions demanding pr ivacy.
This r emote cont r ol utilizes the 2.4 GHz f r equency band.
This band is also used by a va r iety of othe r devices as
noted below. In p a r ticula r , devices not often cognizant to
the use r a r e listed in item 2.
1 Examples of common devices utilizing the 2.4 GHz
band:
• Co r dless p hone
• Co r dless facsimile
• Mic r owave oven
• Wi r eless LAN r oute r
• Wi r eless AV device
• Wi r eless cont r olle r s fo r games
• Mic r owave the r a p eutic devices

2 Other devices using 2.4 GHz:
• Sho p lifting- pr evention systems
• Amateu r wi r eless r adio
• Dist r ibution cont r ol systems at facto r ies and
wa r ehouses
• Railway and eme r gency vehicle wi r eless
identification systems
When such devices a r e used simultaneously with this
r emote cont r ol, signal inte r fe r ence may occu r , r esulting
in signal d r o p outs.
To im pr ove r ece p tion quality, t r y the following:
• Tu r n off the othe r device emitting r adio waves.
• Place the inte r fe r ing device fa r the r away (Move both
the r emote cont r ol and RF ada p te r away f r om the
inte r fe r ing device).
Do not use this r emote cont r ol in the following locations,
since t r ansmission inte rr u p tion may r esult:
• Locations whe r e anothe r device using the same 2.4
GHz f r equency is being used, such as a Bluetooth
wi r eless technology device o r wi r eless LAN, o r in the
vicinity whe r e the magnetic field, static elect r icity, o r
r adio wave inte r fe r ence f r om anothe r device may
occu r (de p ending on the envi r onment, r adio waves
may not t r ansmit effectively).
• Move the r adio fa r the r away.
• If visual noise a pp ea r s on the television sc r een, it is
p ossible that this r emote cont r ol is pr oducing
adve r se influence on the antenna in p ut of the
television, video device, BS tune r , o r CS tune r . Move
this r emote cont r ol fa r the r away f r om the antenna
in p ut of the affected device.
Note
1 • When the r emote cont r ol’s in p ut is switched, the r eceive r ’s in p ut also switches, but fo r functions fo r which the r emote cont r ol di r ect function
( p age 86) is set to off, when the r emote cont r ol’s in p ut is switched, the r eceive r ’s in p ut does not switch and only the r emote cont r ol unit’s
o p e r ating sc r een switches.
• The r emote cont r ol o p e r ation mode is only valid when the r emote cont r ol o p e r ation selecto r switch is set to
