Pairing the RF adapter and remote control
Pai r ing is necessa r y in o r de r to use the RF
communications function. Pe r fo r m the o p e r ation below
afte r connecting the RF ada p te r and r eceive r .
1 Switch on the receiver.
2 Set the RF Remote Setup on this receiver’s Other
Setup menu to ON.

3 Press the SETTING button on the front of the RF
adapter.
RF ada p te r ’s LED blinks r ed.
4 While pressing MULTI OPERATION, press VIDEO
PARAMETER on the remote control.
The r emote dis p lay shows PAIRING .
5 Press ENTER on the remote control.
AUTHORIZATION flashes and p ai r ing is p e r fo r med.
When p ai r ing is successful, SUCCESS is dis p layed and
p ai r ing is com p leted. RF ada p te r ’s LED lights g r een.
The dis p lay on the r eceive r itself is dis p layed on the
r emote cont r ol’s dis p lay. Fo r details, see

on p age 13.
If ERROR is dis p layed, p ai r ing has not been successful.
Check the connections and distance with the RF ada p te r ,
then sta r t ove r f r om ste p 1.
The r emote cont r ol unit’s r eceive r o p e r ation mode must
be set to “RF” in o r de r to o p e r ate the r eceive r with RF two-
way communications. Make this setting as desc r ibed at

Operating this receiver by RF
communications
Use this pr ocedu r e to make the r emote cont r ol settings
to o p e r ate the r eceive r using RF two-way
communications. The settings can be made individually
fo
r the main zone, ZONE 2 and ZONE 3. Connect the
r eceive r and RF ada p te r and p ai r the RF ada p te r and
r emote cont r ol unit befo r ehand.
1 While pressing MULTI OPERATION, press HOME
MENU.

2 Use

to select ‘IR/RF SELECT’, then press
ENTER.
Check that the units a r e p ai r ed. If RECEIVER MAIN is
dis p layed, p ai r ing has been p e r fo r med pr o p e r ly, so
pr oceed to ste p 3. If RF MODE ONLY flashes, p ai r ing has
not been p e r fo r med pr o p e r ly, so p e r fo r m this pr ocedu r e
again afte r p e r fo r ming p ai r ing (see Pairing the RF adapter
and remote control on p age 92).
3 Use
/
to select the receiver zone for which you
want to use RF two-way communications, then press
ENTER.
4 Use
/
to select ‘RF MODE’, then press ENTER.

IR MODE
to r etu r n to o p e r ation by inf r a r ed signal.
5 If you want to operate other zones with RF two-
way communications, repeat steps 3 and 4.
Operating other components by RF
communications
U p to 4 othe r com p onents connected to the r eceive r can
be o p e r ated by RF communications. Use the IR blaste r to
communicate between the RF ada p te r and othe r
com p onents, and switch the r emote cont r ol’s setting to
RF. The r emote cont r ol’s setting can be switched
individually fo r each in p ut.

1 When RECEIVER is selected and RF MODE is set at ste p 3, HMG NET RADIIO , ADAPTER , iPod USB and TUNER a r e automatically set to the
