9 Using the Title List screen
Erasing a Title
Before a disc is finalized, you can erase titles
recorded on the disc.
• If you erase a title from a DVD-R disc, the title will
disappear from the Title List screen, but the
available recording time does not increase.
• Erasing a title from a DVD-RW disc, the remaining
time available for recording only increases if it is the
last title on the disc.
1 If the disc is playing, press

STOP to stop
playback.
2Press MENU or TOP MENU to display the Title
List.
• Alternatively, you can press ERASE and go straight
to step 4 .
3 Select ‘Erase Title’ from the Title List menu.
4 Choose the title you want to erase.
After pressing ENTER, the new, updated Title List
is displayed.
5 Enter a name for the selected title.
Names can be up to 24 characters long.
• For discs formatted on a different DVD recorder,
you will see only a limited character set.
6 Choose OK to fix the name and return to the
Title List screen.
