Automatic timer
recording using the
G-Code programming
system
This system makes programming
timer recordings very simple. Most
TV guides publish G-Code
programming numbers with their
program details. If you want to
make a timer recording of a
program, you just input the
corresponding code. The date,
start, stop and channel settings
are made automatically. All you
have to do is tell the recorder the
recording mode and quality, and
whether it’s a once-only recording,
or a regular recording.
Up to 8 timer programs can be
stored in the recorder.
The screen shots in the steps below
show the on-screen displays for
standard timer recording, although the
instructions apply to both standard
timer recording and disc timer
recording. See also

1 Load a recordable disc.
If you load a blank DVD-RW disc, it
will automatically be formatted for VR
mode recording. This takes around 40
seconds.
2Press G-CODE to display the G-
Code program screen.
3 Use the number buttons to
enter the G-Code programming
number.
• To clear the last digit entered,
press CLEAR .
4 Press REC MODE to change the
recording quality.
For VR mode discs : Switch between
SP and MN recording. If you select
MN , move the joystick up/down to set
the recording quality.
For Video mode discs : It is not
possible to set to V1 or V2 . If you
plan to make a Video mode recording,
leave this set to
SP , then use the REC
MODE button afterwards to set the
recording mode.
5 Move the joystick left/right to
select the Once, Daily or Weekly
recording option.
