GATE SELECT

Selects a gate mode out of the following five.
OFF When gate is OFF, II does not work even if the II unit is powered
on.
CONTINUOUS
Gate operates in synchronization with the camera shutter.
GATING
Gate operates according to the value set up in
②
(except
DELAY).
EXTERNAL
Gate operates in sync with the gate signal input to EXTERNAL
IN on the camera head.
DELAY Gate operates according to the value (WIDTH/DELAY only) set
up in ② above.
Explanation of each gate mode is given below:

OFF
No gating operation can be made when OFF is selected. When power is
switched on (either by ON or ON LOAD in the II POWER menu), the
intensifier gets in this OFF status by default. The intensifier will not be in
operation unless the gate setting is made as shown in
③
GATE SELECT.

CONTINUOUS
The intensifier operates in synchronization with the camera shutter.
Select a shutter speed on the keypad and the intensifier gate is
automatically set accordingly.
Note that the item set in
② II GAIN GATE only is reflected; other items
(those set in CYCLE, WIDTH, TIMES and DELAY) are not.

GATING
Items set in ② CYCLE, WIDTH and TIMES are reflected. The intensifier
performs gating operation in accordance with these settings. In internal
operating mode, use this GATING to set the above items when gating of
higher rate than the shutter speed. The camera shutter MUST be set to
1/ (frame rate).

EXTERNAL
The intensifier performs gating operation with the signal that is input to the
[EXTERNAL IN] BNC connector on the camera head. Because no
processing is done to the incoming signal, the signal needs to be correctly
synchronized with the camera shutter in advance.
Note: The intensifier does not support DC operation. If a HIGH signal is input continuously
over 2 seconds, the protection circuit automatically shuts down the intensifier.
* How to recover from a shut down status: When the protection circuit is active, the indication
LED on the camera head blinks. Switch the II power off from the menu, and switch power on
again.
Note: Only the item set under GAIN in

is reflected; all others (CYCLE, WIDTH, TIMES and
DELAY) are not.

DELAY
Gating of the intensifier is delayed by the delay value set in
②
DELAY at
each occurrence of a gate pulse as shown below. In this mode, get [REC
POS] signal from [GENERAL OUT] of the camera processor and feed it to
[EXTERNAL IN] on the camera head. The camera trigger modes that
support this DELAY mode are START and RANDOM only. Any trigger
mode where an endless recording of captured image data is involved does
not support this DELAY mode. The camera shutter must be set to 1/
(frame rate).
