Troubleshooting
Problem
What to check:
The machine is on but
distributes cold water
The safety thermostat must be reset. Press the button (26) on the
back on the machine.
Coffee is not distributed.
Be sure there is water in the tank.The filter may be plugged
because the blend is too fine or the coffee has been tamped too
much.Be sure the break drain fitting is clean.
Coffee comes out too
quickly.
Be sure the coffee has not been ground too coarsely.Be sure the
coffee was tamped with the coffee tamper.
Excessive loss of water
from the filter holder.
Be sure the filter holder has been inserted correctly.Be sure the
gasket is not dirty or deteriorated.Be sure there is no coffee
residue on the edge of the filter holder.
The espresso has little
"cream."
Be sure the coffee has not been ground too coarsely.Be sure the
coffee has been tamped with the coffee tamper.Be sure the coffee
is not too old or dry.
The coffee is too cold.
Be sure the machine has been heated.Be sure the coffee was not
ground too coarsely.
The milk does not froth
sufficiently.
Be sure the steam nozzle and/or air intake hole are not
plugged.Be sure the milk is not too hot.
