Instructions for electrical cord
A.
A rather short electrical cord is provided to
avoid twisting and prevent you from tripping
on it.
B.
Extension cords may be used with great
caution.
C.
If an extension cord is used, make sure:
1. that the voltage indicated on the extension is
at least as much as the electrical voltage of
the appliance
2. that it has a three prong grounded plug (if the
appliance cord is this type)
3. that the cord does not hang from the table, so
that you will not trip on it
Preparing the espresso coffee
machine:
1. Take out the removable water tank (6).
2. Unscrew the boiler cap (4) in a counter-
clockwise direction.
3. Add water to the boiler (12) until it reaches
3/4 (about 0.8 l) on the gauge glass (23).
We recommend that you do not fill beyond
the upper portion of the gauge glass. In any
event, you can turn the machine over to dump
out any excess water.
Important:
Always check the water level in
the boiler (12) before using the machine.
Lack of water could cause the safety
thermostat to turn on, which will interrupt
heating of the water in the boiler, to
safeguard its interior resistance. In this case,
the safety thermostat must be reset. See
Troubleshooting.
4. Screw on the boiler cap (4) clockwise and
ensure that the cap and steam valve handle
(7) are completely closed.
Important:
Never unscrew the boiler cap when
the machine is in operation. To remove the
cap, click the power switch (1) to position
0, open slowly, turning the steam valve
handle (7) counter-clockwise, and wait for
all the steam to be released from the special
steam wand (8).
5. Refill the water tank (6) (about 1liter) and
reinsert it.
Note:
Once the boiler is filled, the water tank
(6) may be refilled, when necessary, even
without being removed.
6. Insert the filter holder (9) into the brew head
(14) and lock it in with a left to right movement
until it clicks into place. The handle of the
filter holder must be positioned to the right.
7. Insert the plug (19) into a proper socket (see
Warning
on page 1, point 1.
