Make sure that the probe tip has not been deformed by the steriliza-
tion process.
12.1.5 Cleaning and disinfecting the test cavity
Caution:
Do not use bath or autoclaving!
If the test cavity has been contaminated with debris from the probe
tip, use gas sterilization according to local hygienic standards (i.e.
with ethyleneoxide, at a temperature of 55°C, at a pressure of 0.8 to
1.0 bar).
12.2 Cleaning the Y-cable
Always mount the Ear Couplers on the Ear Coupler adapters before
use to prevent the Ear Coupler adapters from coming into contact
with the patient. The Ear Couplers are disposable items and should
be used only on one patient.
If there is a risk of cross-infection, clean the adapters. Otherwise,
clean the adapters at the end of the day:
• Disconnect the Y-cable from the AccuScreen PRO.
• Use a wet tissue with alcohol to clean the Y-cable and the Ear
Coupler adapter. Wipe only with disinfectants and make sure
that liquid does not enter the Ear Coupler adapter. Never
immerse the Y-cable in liquid.
12.3 Battery maintenance
12.3.1 Safety information
Explosion hazard
• Do not throw the battery pack into the fire and keep it away
from fire, as it may explode.
• Incorrect handling, applying excessive charging current or
reversing the poles can overcharge or destroy the batteries.
• Do not open, alter or dismantle the battery pack.
• Do not place the battery pack into contact with metal objects.
• The terminals may under no circumstances be short-circuited.
