1.6 SNMP management
The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a protocol intended for management of
network nodes (servers, workstations, routers, switches and hubs etc.) on an IP network.
SNMP enables network administrators to manage network performance, find and solve
network problems, and plan for network growth. Network management systems can via
SNMP either poll network nodes for information or receive messages, called traps, which are
generated due to a specified event or error situation.
The CM-1600 agent supports two PTP related MIBs:

The PTP data sets described in chapter 1.4 can be configured and monitored by using the
OnTime private MIB.
