Upgrade firmware on single unit
Upgrade of the PTP CPU firmware may be performed on multiple devices at the same time or
on one device at a time. The choice from the popup menu: “Upgrade firmware on single unit”
will upgrade firmware on one PTP CPU at a time.
Click on the file menu to choose a PTP CPU firmware file. The file has the extension *.bin.
When a valid file is chosen the upgrade button will be enabled; Upgrade is then started by
pressing the upgrade button. Status and progress will displayed during upgrade. Note that
IPSet will start a TFTP server on your computer. Please make sure that no other TFTP
session is running at the same time and that your user has the needed user privileges to start
the TFTP server.
The CM-1600 PTP CPU has dual images for the PTP CPU. This means that when an
upgrade is performed, the new image is written to a secondary partition. The new firmware is
not active until the PTP CPU boots up with the new image. At the end up upgrade you must
reboot the PTP CPU for the new image to become the running image.
