Communication options

The XANTO S features a serial (RS-232) and a USB communica-
tions port as well as a slot for optional interface cards.

NOTE

The data transfer rate of the USB interface is set to 2400 baud.

6.1.1

RS-232 and USB communication interfaces

To facilitate communication between the UPS system and a computer,
connect the computer using a suitable data cable (RS-232 cable,
included in the scope of supply) to one of the communication ports of
the UPS system. Figure 31 and Figure 32 show the position of the
communication ports.

HINWEIS

RS-232 and USB communication interface cannot be used
simultaneously.

When the connection cable is connected, the DataWatch software
can exchange data with the UPS system (see "

DataWatch soft-

ware

“). The software calls up detailed specifications about the status

of the power supply environment from the UPS system. If an emer-
gency power situation becomes necessary, the software will trigger
the storage of all data and a proper shutdown of the system.

The assignment of the cable connection pins for the RS-232 com-
munications port is shown in Figure 33; refer to
