The Apache HTTP Server
With a share of more than 70%, the Apache HTTP Server (Apache) is the world's most
widely-used Web server according to the November 2005 Survey from

. Apache, developed by the Apache Software Foundation

), is available for most operating systems. SUSE®
Linux Enterprise Server includes Apache version 2.2. In this chapter, learn how to install,
configure and set up a Web server; how to use SSL, CGI, and additional modules; and
how to troubleshoot Apache.
40.1 Quick Start
With the help of this section, quickly set up and start Apache. time. You must be

40.1.1 Requirements
Make sure that the following requirements are met before trying to set up the Apache
Web server:
