appendix form) engineering information, pile information (pile
number, pile length, pile diameter, pile type etc.), understand and
record related units information of foundation pile project (building,
construction, supervision etc.)
3. Test Preparation
According to the requirements in Clause 10.3.2 of Technical
code for testing of building foundation piles JGJ106
:
1) Fill clear water in each pipe and check the smooth condition of
pipe, the transducer shall be able to lift and fall smoothly in full
scope
;
2) Number pipes (numbering method shall refer to Appendix H of
Technical code for testing of building foundation pilesJGJ106),
normally the numbering starts from the pipe close to north as
No.1 and conducted by clockwise, as shown in F1.1a,
a) Numbering of pipes b) Measurement of pipe spacing
Figure F1.1 Numbering of pipes and measurement of pipe spacing
3) Measure and record the clear spacing among outer wall of each
pipe, as shown in F1.1b

4) Measure and record the height from pipe mouth to actual pile
head of each pipe.
5) Measure the outer diameter of transducer d', outer diameter of
pipe D, and inner diameter of pipe d by vernier caliper (accurate
to 1mm)
;

6) Place one pipe mouth pulley at the mouth of each pipe; put each
transducer into different pipes down to the pile bottom along the
pulley.
F1.1.1.2 Instruments Connection
1) Adjust the tripod to suitable height and install the depth recorder
on tripod head, letting the side with two guideposts face the
direction of testing pile; as shown in F1.3
