Hopper slide gates are

difficult to open

Hopper slide plates are accumulated with

debris.

Remove and clean around gate, and rollers.

Obstruction in hopper.

Remove obstruction.

Rack & pinion controls are damaged.

Replace rack & pinion controls.

U-Trough auger plugs

when initially starting

Power Sweep.

Intermediate hopper(s) not closed.

Close intermediate hopper(s).

Obstruction in underfloor auger.

Remove obstruction.

Electric motor belts are not tight enough

Tighten belts.

Electric motor is not large enough to power

entire system

Replace electric motor with a larger model.

Power Sweep drive

wheel doesn’t function

when Power Sweep is

activated.

Drive wheel bolt missing.

Ensure all bolts are in place and tightened that

attach the Power Sweep drive wheel to the Power

Sweep auger.

Wheel Installation" on page 3-26)

Obstruction in Power Sweep auger.

Remove obstruction.

Grain bin wall hardware interfering with drive

wheel.

Cut off or grind interfering hardware.

(See"Installing

New Standard Drive Wheel Flighting Extension

(Step 7)" on page 3-32)

Power Sweep stops

traveling around the bin.

Power Sweep is hitting a high spot on the

aeration floor.

Adjust Power Sweep at upper gearbox plate.

(See"Adjust the Power Sweep Backboard" on

page 5-14)

Buzz Wheel drive wheel isn’t functioning

properly (stripped gears, sheared bolts, loose

bearing that holds sprocket in place etc…)

Ensure all bolts are in place and tightened,

sprocket and gears are in place and not stripped,

bearing is tightened.

Standard Drive wheel rubber is worn down

Replace rubber drive wheel.

Obstruction in sweep.

Remove obstruction.

Carrier wheel needs adjustment.

Adjust carrier wheel.

(See"Power Sweep Carrier

Wheel Installation" on page 3-33)

Grain is flowing over

backboard of sweep.

This is normal, and the grain will be swept up

on the second pass of the sweep.

No solution needed. Part of normal operation.

Belt is moving, motor is

running, but sweep and

underfloor auger are not

moving.

Set screws and keys on pulleys are not

installed or are too loose.

Disengage system and check set screws and

keys to ensure they are installed and tightened.

Power Sweep engaged,

U-Trough auger and

motor running, but Power

Sweep auger flighting

and/or upper gearbox not

turning.

U-Trough gearbox shift linkage is out of

adjustment.

Adjust shift linkage to fully engage Power Sweep.

(See"Install The "Power Sweep Engagement

Lever"" on page 3-9)

Underfloor auger is not connected properly

on spline.

Ensure U-Trough auger is fully inserted on lower

gearbox spline.

(See"Horizontal Powerhead

Installation Step # 8" on page 3-19)

Spline shaft on lower gearbox is broken.

Replace broken spline shaft or the lower gearbox.

Sheared bolts and/or key on upper gearbox

where sweep coupler is connected.

Replace bolt and key that connect the Power

Sweep to the gearbox.

Upper gearbox shaft is broken.

Replace gearbox shaft or entire gearbox.

Gearbox is damaged.

Replace gearbox.
