Setting the System Time
The BayStack 820 ISDN Router maintains a real-time clock that is automatically
set to the local time of the management workstation the first time you connect to
the BayStack 820 ISDN Router Manager software.
The time is used to provide time stamps for Connection Log and System Log
entries and to determine Internet access time restrictions (see
“Setting Internet
Access Time Restrictions” on page 6-11
).
Because the router does not use a backup battery for the real-time clock, the time
is not maintained across system resets or power cycles. Therefore, after a reset or
power cycle, you must connect to the router to reset the clock. The time zone and
daylight savings time indicator are saved across power cycles.
