Enabling Bridging Learning
Bridging takes advantage of an intelligent learning algorithm to build a
MAC-address-to-interface map. This map is used to make forwarding or filtering
decisions for each packet the router receives, whether the packet is from the LAN
side or from one of the WAN connections.
Enabling learning, does not enable bridging for a connection profile. You must
enable bridging individually for the specific WAN connection.

System IPX Configuration Fields
Field
Description
Ethernet Frame Type
Select the Ethernet frame type on the LAN. Normally, the router automatically
detects the frame type. Select from Ethernet_802.3, Ethernet_802.2, Ethernet_II,
and Ethernet_SNAP.
IPX Network Number
Enter a unique identifier for the IPX network on your LAN. Normally, the router
automatically detects the network number.
IPX RIP/SAP
Select whether to enable IPX Routing Information Protocol (RIP) and Service
Advertising Protocol (SAP). When you enable IPX RIP/SAP, the router receives RIP
and SAP broadcast data from other routers, and broadcasts the routing table and
routing table updates as necessary.
