C.
If calculated speed is not 188 cm/min (equal to PV), check belt speed control parameter in Oven
system setup wizard
page 6
. See
Operating System Software Section-Q
for setup wizard
parameter setup values.
D.
If calculated belt speed is less than 188 cm/min and MAX trimpot is at the maximum setting,
please contact Asymtek Service Department for additional help.
After setting MIN and MIX trimpots, set the belt speed set point to 90 cm/min and observe the power OP%. OP%
should be approximately 48% ±3%. If the OP% does not fall within this range, repeat the procedure to adjust the
MIN and MAX settings or contact the Asymtek Service Department.
After completing the speed adjustments, test the transport system at different speeds and compare the calculated
value to the computer setting.
III.
Current Limit Adjustment. (Applies
only
to transport systems
without
a mechanical clutch)
This calibration should be done ONLY AFTER the MAX and MIN speed adjustments have been
completed. The desired threshold for the transport is 30 to 40 in-lbs. of force. This is the force required to
cause the transport motor controller to stop (current limit) the conveyor.
A.
Tools required: 10-100 inch-pound 3/8” drive torque wrench set to 40 inch-pounds, 5/8” open end
and 3/8” drive crow’s foot wrench.
B.
In the software application program, set the computer control speed setting to 90 cm/min. (48%
power).
C.
Engage the square shaft on the front rear side of the machine with the crows foot wrench and
restrict the drive motion. Note which even happens first: conveyor stall or torque wrench ‘click’.
D.
If wrench clicks before the conveyor stalls, reduce the current limit threshold by turning the trimpot
counter-clockwise.
E.
If the conveyor stalls before the wrench clicks, increase the threshold by turning the trimpot
clockwise.
F.
Repeat steps B through E until the torque wrench clicks in-between 35 to 40 in-lbs. for the 60-
cm/min-belt speed setting.
After completing the current limit adjustment, test the transport system at different speeds to verify that stall
torque falls within the 30 to 40 inch-pound range.
