Rear Axle and Tandems

Step 7: 

As assembly is completed, the clearance of each 

clutch pack must be from 0.002-0.004 in. 
(0.05-0.1 mm), this is required for proper operation of 
super MAX-TRAC differential unit. Make sure of proper 
gear rotation. Should clutch pack clearance value differ 
from specified one, the differential unit should be 
disassembled to change clutch pack composition 
selecting counter disks with proper thickness. 
Reassemble and check.

Step 8: 

Mount bevel ring gear and lock relevant fixing 

screws with a torque of 89-105 Ib-ft (12.0-14.2 daNm).

Step 9: 

Check that screws assembling differential half-

cases be tightened with a torque of 55-63 Ib-ft 
(7.5-8.5 daNm).
