3-8 Setting Up Your Server

Installation Procedure

This server can be installed in either the NEC rack or a third vendor's rack. Take the following steps
to install the server in the rack.

Installing Inner Rail (on one side)

Take the following steps to install the inner rail on front or rear side of the rack.

NOTE:

To install the inner rails on both sides of the rack, see

"Installing Inner Rail (on both sides).

Removal of inner rail

From the side marked with "F", slowly remove the inner rail while pressing the unlock
button. (The figure shows the right side of rail assembly. Remove the inner rail from left
side in the same manner.)

IMPORTANT:

The removed rail assemblies are to be installed on the inner rails
later.

Be very careful not to get your finger caught in the levers or rails.

Press this button to
unlock the inner rail.
