Chapter 6: Removing the Thermal Receipt Mechanism

September 1998

Caution:  

Before working on the printer be sure that the power has been turned off. Wear a

grounded wrist strap and use a static mat or other ESD protected work surface.

Note:  

Some 7156 models may appear slightly different than what is shown in the

illustrations. The procedures are the same for all models unless otherwise noted.

1.

 

Turn off the host computer or unplug the power supply depending on where the
printer receives power.

2.

 

Disconnect the communication and power cables.

Models receiving power from the host computer (integrated) use one cable for
communication and power. Models receiving power from a power supply (remote)
use one cable for communication and a separate cable for power.

3.

 

Open the receipt cover and remove the paper roll.

4.

 

Pull the receipt cover gently upward and slightly to the right to detach it from the
printer at its hinges, while maintaining gentle pressure on the left back edge of the
cabinet.
