Note:

The hinge arm assembly (front cover) must be completely closed in order to adjust

the platen gap. The cover itself can be removed for easier viewing as long as the hinge
assembly and pressure roll assembly remain attached and in the closed position. You can
also remove the top cover for better viewing.

1.

Place the wrench on the left adjusting eccentric and the feeler gauge on the left side
between the platen and the printhead.

2.

Adjust the eccentric until you feel a slight drag on the gauge.

If the printer has the MICR check reader option make sure the feeler gauge is not on
the magnet in the MICR assembly when adjusting the right eccentric.

3.

Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the right side.
