Chapter 16: Forms Compensation Arm Assembly

September 1998

Replace the bottom feed roll shaft by sliding the left side of the shaft into the left side
slot and then snapping the right side of the shaft into place on the forms compensation
arm assembly.

8.

 

Replace the e-ring on the left side of the feed roll shaft.

9.

 

Replace the pivot arm shaft in the extended tabs on the forms compensation assembly
by first inserting the right side in the slot, and then pushing the left side into place.

Replacing the Forms Compensation Arm Assembly in the Base

Note:  

The forms compensation arm assembly cannot be replaced in the base until the

solenoid and the forms guide assembly have been positioned in the base feed assembly. If
the solenoid and forms guide assembly are not in the base feed assembly see “Replacing
the Forms Guide Assembly in the Base” in chapter 17 and “Replacing the Solenoid and
Pivot Arm Assemblies” in chapter 18.

Orientation for replacing the forms compensation arm assembly in the base is with the
forms compensation shaft facing you.

See the illustration in “Removing the Forms ‘Compensation Arm Assembly” earlier in this
chapter to aid in replacing the forms compensation arm assembly in the base.

1.

 

Hold the solenoid out while setting the forms compensation arm assembly in the
printer base.

Make sure that the springs on the base of the forms compensation arm assembly are in
the correct position.

2.

 

Snap the shaft into the pivot arm assembly.

3.

 

Snap the left side of the forms compensation arm assembly into the tab on the base,
then snap the right side down.

4.

 

Snap the pivot arm shaft down to place the platen in the lowered position.

Make sure the sensor wires are out of the way.
