The paper low sensor is set at the factory to detect when there are 4 ½ meters,
±
3 meters
(15 feet,
±
10 feet), of receipt paper remaining. The sensor can be adjusted to detect less or
more paper remaining. It is recommended, however, that the sensor be kept at the factory
setting. A gauge is available as a kit item to set the paper low sensor to the factory setting.
If the sensor has accidentally been changed, follow these steps to re-adjust it.
1. Open the receipt cover.
2. If the sensor is too far to either end of the cutout, move it with your finger until it's
closer to the center.
This makes it easier to use the gauge.
3. Insert the gauge (with the small notch toward the front of the printer) into the cutout
and slide the paper low sensor until the gauge locks into place.
You'll notice that the sensor points toward the middle notch, which represents the
factory setting. The other two notches are used for paper low settings in other printer
configurations and can be ignored.
4. Remove the gauge and close the receipt cover.
