2.4 Patient Orientation
2.4.1 Definition of Patient Orientation
Be sure to select the patient orientation correctly. Otherwise, it may result in
operating table adjustments in a wrong direction.
Check the correct patient orientation prior to making any adjustment. The
patient orientation is indicated on the hand control by the normal indicator
or the reverse position indicator.
The patient orientation depends on the position of the patient on the table top with regard to
the operating table base.
2.4.1.1 Normal Patient Orientation
As the Figure 2-33 shows, the upper part of the patient’s body is located above the operating
table base (1).
