When the Machine Is Not Used for a Long Time (Storage Wash)
When the machine is not going to be used for a week or more, use the cleaning function for custody to clean
the head nozzles and ink discharge passage. After this, keep the machine in custody.

Press the key in LOCAL.

Press to select [Strage Wash].

Press the key.
• Check the waste ink tank and discard the waste ink as
required.

Press the key.
• The carriage moves onto the platen.

Open the maintenance cover R to clean the
wiper.

Clean the wiper cleaner.
• Wipe off the ink sticking to the wiper cleaner with a clean
stick dipped in cleaning solution for maintenance.
Check the items
on the right
beforehand.
Is [NEAR END] or [INK END] displayed?
• The cleaning solution or ink is absorbed when the nozzles are washed.
At this time, if the state of {INK END] or {NEAR END] is detected, the nozzle washing
operation cannot start.
• Replace the ink pack with another from which the state of [NEAR END] or [INK END] is
not detected.
• In the control characteristics of this machine, if the power is turned off for more than 12 hours, ink may
gradually be discharged from the head nozzle even if the head is capped.
If ink is discharged from the nozzle, the color of ink may be mixed with ink of adjacent nozzles in the
same head.
Once ink is mixed in the nozzle, ink must be filled in the head again, thus much remaining ink may go
to waste.
Even if it is not used for a long time, do not turn off the power as much as possible.
• Be careful so that you may not get injured with
the edge of the wiper cleaner.
