Like any o ther m echanical e q u ip ­
ment, the vehicle requires care and
m aintenance. S cope and fre q u e n cy of
m aintenance w ork depend m ainly on
o perating c o n d ition s w hich, in turn,
may vary to a con sid era b le degree.
A m aintenance b o o klet is delivered
with your ca r listing all the
m aintenance jo b s that m ust be
carried out after the follow ing
mileages:
• Once after 300— 600 miles
(500— 1,000 km)
• Once after 4,000 m iles (7,000 km)
• A fte r 12,500 m iles (20,000 km)
the re a fte r after every 12,500 miles
(20,000 km), but at least once a
year.
We w ould also like to draw your
attention to the hints contained in the
m aintenance bo o klet covering
necessary lu b rica tio n services every
4,000 m iles (7,000 km), additional
m aintenance jo b s every37,500 m iles
(60,000 km ) and MB individual
m aintenance as required.
Renew brake fluid once a year,
pre fe ra b ly in spring. Use only
recom m ended brake fluids.
The vehicle m ust receive the
p rescrib e d m aintenance a n d /o r
lub rica tio n w ork at the specified
intervals as listed in the m aintenance
booklet. V erification of p e rform ance
of such m a in te n a n c e /lu b ric a tio n w ork
should be recorded in the spaces
provided in the m aintenance booklet.
The m aintenance jo b s are d escribed
in detail in a m anual w hich you can
o rd e r from y o u r MERCEDES-BENZ
service station.
A small sticke r attached to the d o o r
post of the d riv e r’s d o o r by the service
station personnel is to rem ind you
when the next m aintenance service or
lub rica tio n service is due.

Severe Operating Conditions
In the case of severe operating
c o n d ition s or heavy use m ainly in city
tra ffic or over sh o rt distances,
fre q u e n t m ountain driving, poor
roads, dusty and m uddy conditions,
tra ile r operation, hard and sporty
driving, etc. it may be necessary to
inspect e. g.
o the fro n t axle brake linings
o the tires
at sh o rte r intervals.
