Controls
Steering Lock
0 Steering is locked when the key is
rem oved. Key can be rem oved
only in this position.
Note:
Do not rem ove key from steering
lock while the vehicle is in m otion
as this will cause the engagem ent
of th e s te e rin g lock thus rendering
the vehicle inoperable.
1 Steering is unlocked.
(If necessary, move steering
wheel slightly to turn the key
clockw ise to position “ 1” ).
2 P reglow ing takes place.
S tarting: co n tin u e tu rn in g key
clockw ise to the stop. The starter
is engaged when the key is
pressed against the stop. The
sta rte r nonrepeat unit requires
the key to be returned to position
"0 ” p rio r to a new starting at­
tem pt. For starting and tu rn in g off
the engine, re fe r to page 36.
Notes:
The follo w in g item s can be operated
with the key in steering lock p o si­
tion “ 1” .
W iper, w indshield washer, h e adlight
flasher, e le ctric lighter, glove
co m p a rtm e n t light, radio, e le ctric seat
heater fo r fro n t seats.
The pow er su p p ly to the standing
lights is d isru p te d if the key in the
steering lock is in position “ 2” .
A w arning buzzer sounds when the
key has been left in steering lock
positions “ 1” or “ 0” and the d rive r's
d o o r is opened.

Idle Speed Adjuster
To increase idle speed, turn knob
cou n te rclo ckw ise .
To decrease idle speed, turn knob
clockw ise.
