i
To ensure optimum mobile phone reception
quality in the vehicle and minimise the mutual in-
terference between the vehicle electronics and
mobile phones, Mercedes-Benz recommends
using an approved exterior aerial. An exterior
aerial conducts the electromagnetic fields emit-
ted by the mobile phone to the outside and the
field strength inside the vehicle decreases in
comparison with operation without an exterior
aerial.
i
Various mobile phone brackets are available
for installation in your vehicle. You can obtain
these brackets from a qualified specialist work-
shop, e.g. a Mercedes-Benz Service Centre. The
functions and services available when you use
the phone depend on your mobile phone model
and your service provider.
The bracket is in the centre armrest.
Open the telephone compartment
( page 356).
Inserting a mobile phone into the
bracket
If the mobile phone is inserted in the
bracket, you can only speak to the person
you are calling in hands-free mode.
!
Do not attempt to remove the mobile phone
and the bracket together. You could otherwise
damage the bracket.
If there is one, remove the round cover
on the back of the mobile phone and
keep it in a safe place. Read the mobile
phone operating instructions.

the charge status and the position of
the key in the ignition lock. The
progress of the charging process is
shown in the mobile phone display.

Risk of injury
Excessive electromagnetic radiation can
constitute a health hazard to yourself and
others. Use of an exterior aerial gives con-
sideration to scientific discussion surround-
ing the possible health risk posed by
electromagnetic fields.
