Side windows

You can also open or close the side win-
dows:
from the outside using the "Summer opening
feature" ( page 351) or the "Convenience
closing feature" ( page 352)
from the inside using the "Convenience
opening feature" or the "Convenience clos-
ing feature" on the automatic air condition-
ing air recirculation button ( page 340)
You can disable control of the rear side windows
from the driver’s seat ( page 45).

When PRE-SAFE
®
has been activated, the
front side windows close automatically but re-
main slightly open.
The rocker switches for all side windows
are located on the driver’s door. There are
also rocker switches for the respective
windows on the front-passenger door and
in the rear on the left and right-hand sides.

Risk of injury
Stay away from the side window during the
opening procedure, otherwise you could be
caught or trapped between the side window
and the door frame by the downwards move-
ment of the window. If danger threatens, re-
lease the rocker switch or press the rocker
switch a second time to close the side win-
dow again.

Make sure that nobody can become trapped
as you close a side window. If danger threat-
ens, release the rocker switch or press the
lower section of the rocker switch to open
the side window again.

Risk of injury
Never leave children unsupervised in the ve-
hicle. Always take the KEYLESS GO key with
you when leaving the vehicle, even if you are
only leaving it for a short time.
Do not leave children unsupervised in the
vehicle, even if they are secured in a child
restraint system. The children could:
injure themselves on parts of the vehicle
be injured severely or even fatally by
prolonged exposure to intense heat
press the central locking button and
thereby release the child-proof locks
and open the door
If the children open the door, they could:
injure other people
get out of the vehicle and thereby injure
themselves or be injured by a passing
vehicle
Activate override feature for rear compart-
ment controls ( page 45) when children
are travelling in the vehicle. The children can
otherwise open windows while the vehicle is
in motion and thereby injure themselves and
others.
