Ink Estimation Mode
This feature lets you predetermine approximately how much ink a
given job may use prior to printing a job. This can be useful for
determining approximate per piece costs without wasting any
materials/supplies.
Make your selection and then Click “Submit” to activate or
deactivate this feature.
When this feature is selected the Toolbox will display: “
Ink Estimation Mode”
Tip: Send a minimum of at least 100 pieces to ensure a large enough sample size.
NOTICE!
The printer will not feed or print while the “Ink Estimation Mode” is enabled.
Once the job has completed; refresh this screen to view the estimates.
Please be sure to un-check the “Ink Estimation Mode” when you are ready to print the job.
The estimating process takes as long as the job would take to print
(i.e., if the job would take 1 hour to
print, the estimate will take 1 hour to display .)
WARNING !
Enabling the “Ink Estimation Mode” disables all printhead and ink system maintenance routines; while in
this mode. Once you are finished using this feature, please be sure to uncheck (disable) the “Ink Estimation
Mode”; so the printer can perform maintenance.
The Ink Usage information can also be used to estimate how many pages/labels can be printed, for a
particular print job; before a particular Ink Tank is emptied (assuming Ink Tank is full).
NOTE: The numbers provided in the Printed Ink section of the Ink Usage menu are in micro-liters (µL).
A new/full Ink Tank contains 250 ml (250,000 µL) of ink.
Calculation Example:
Using the info from the bottom row (Job 3) of this Ink Usage chart; each page used an average of 0.311 µL
of Cyan ink. (311 µL /1000 pages = 0.311 µL/page)
Therefore a full Cyan Ink Tank should be emptied after approximately 803,859 pages/labels have been
printed. (250,000 µL /0.311 µL per page = 803,858.52 pages)
NOTICE: This is only an estimate. No guarantee of accuracy is expressed or implied. These estimates
do NOT include other factors such as Printer maintenance routines, (printhead wiping and cleaning, power
up/down, etc.) that may affect the overall result.
