SECTION 3
OPERATING THE PRINTER
56
Mid Job Servicing
– Sets the frequency of automatic maintenance that will be done during a Roll to Cut
job. Settings are: Default (14m), Level 4 (100m), Level 3 (250m), Level 2 (375m), Level 1 (500m) and Off
(
∞)
. Once the printer has transported the corresponding media length; the printer will pause to perform
printhead maintenance after the next “cut” is performed.
WARNING:
Changing the setting from “Default” may cause print quality issues and reduce Printhead life.
NOTE
: In "Roll to Roll" mode: "Mid Job Servicing" is disabled. Therefore printing will not be interrupted
to perform head maintenance; unless the job has been paused for more than 5 minutes. If you see image
degradation during the run; you can manually PAUSE the job (press PAUSE/RESUME button). Then from
the Toolbox press “Cut Media” then press “Retract Media”. With the media retracted, you can now press
“Normal Clean Printhead”. Once head maintenance is completed you can continue printing using the
PAUSE/RESUME button. Once you have printed about 20 inches of labels/media; PAUSE the job again,
splice the stock onto the Winder, and press PAUSE/RESUME to continue.
KWS Setting
– (
Keep Wet Spitting
) Incorporates an algorithm to periodically fire all printhead nozzles in
order to keep all nozzles wet; thereby reducing nozzle clogging and print quality issues. In general the dots
produced on the media by this nozzle firing algorithm are hardly noticeable. However in some cases the
dots produced are not acceptable for the application and the user may wish to turn this feature off.
•
None
= Intrapage spitting is turned off. KWS dots are not sprayed onto media.
WARNING
: Selecting “None” will increase the chance for nozzle clogging and print quality
issues.
•
Light (Default) =
Intrapage spitting frequency is set to the "default" level. KWS dots are sprayed
onto media to help reduce nozzle clogging and print quality issues.
•
Heavy =
Intrapage spitting frequency is increased. An increased number of KWS dots sprayed
onto media to further reduced nozzle clogging and print quality issues.
Click
“Submit”
to apply settings.
