User Interface Menu
[A] Screen Buttons: Let you perform
maintenance and operating tasks.
PRINT buttons:
Pause/Resume, Cancel a Job, Clear Errors,
Reset the Job Counter, and Reset the Page
Counter.
MEDIA buttons:
Forward Media – Moves media forward into
the printer when loading media.
Retract Media – Retracts media from the
printer.
Cut Media – Cuts the media any time button is
pressed without retracting or resetting media.
MAINTENANCE buttons:
Circulate Ink – Purges air from the lines and primes the system after replacing the Ink Tanks or
Printhead Cartridge.
Caution! Don’t run the “Circulate Ink” feature more than two times in a row. Doing so can build-up
too much pressure in the system which may cause excessive ink waste and ink spills to occur.
Quick Clean Printhead – Circulates ink, wipes and cleans the Printhead Cartridge.
Normal Clean Printhead – Runs cleaning and wiping routine twice for better flushing and cleaning.
Full Clean Printhead – Runs the cleaning routine multiple times for the most thorough flushing and
cleaning of the Printhead.
Wiper Preemptive Maintenance – Re-saturates the Wiper Roller with ink to re-hydrate dried residue.
This feature should be activated if the printer has sat idle (powered off or on), for more than two days, or
if you notice that the printer is taking longer to perform “printhead maintenance”.
NOTE : If ink is allowed to dry (coagulate) on the wiper roller and components of the wiper motor
assembly, the system gets harder to turn. This puts more load on the wiper motor, which can cause the
wiper motor temperature to rise above normal. If this occurs the system will stop the wiper motor to allow
it to cool-down. This in-turn extends the time it takes for the printer to perform printhead maintenance.
If maintenance times don’t return to normal, after activating this feature; the Service Station may require
service. Please contact your service representative to schedule service.
Wipe Printhead – Activates the Service Station to wipe the Printhead. No ink is sprayed.
A trained operator or technician can also use this feature to inspect the condition of the wiper roller. See
the Section titled “Inspecting the Wiper Roller” for more details.
