VA-2 (Dual Valve)
Description Thread Type
Clearance
(Distance)
Use this kit when there is a
bottom drain valve and a
return valve available on
the transformer. This valve
kit is compatible with ball,
gate, plug, globe, and
butterfly valves. Mount (Bottom) Valve
Confirm that the thread type
for the valve is female 1” NPT.
If it is not a 1” NPT thread
type, you will need an NPT
reducer. Verify that you have a
reducer on hand.
To Left of the Valve > 18” (45.7 cm)

Return (Top) Valve
Confirm that return valve
accepts 3/8” tubing. If it is not,
you may need an NPT reducer
and adapter to decrease the
present transformer return
valve size to accept 3/8”
tubing. You can also purchase
a Swagelok adapter (PN SS-
600-1-16) that will thread into
the female 1” reducer and
accept 3/8” tubing.

Use this kit any time the SmartDGA
instrument cannot be mounted directly on
the transformer valve or when connecting
the SmartDGA Gauge instrument to a LTC
tank.
Mounting Plate
The support for the mounting plate must
be capable of holding at least 50 pounds
(22 kg) and mounted near the transformer
or LTC filter. The typical support will either
be the transformer wall or a Unistrut post
supported by concrete.
The location chosen must be appropriate
for the support and allow for oil lines to
and from the transformer or LTC filter. If
installing in a cold climate where the oil
will reach a temperature of
-10 °C or less in the lines, the lines must be
heated, otherwise the oil will be too
viscous to be pumped by the SmartDGA
instrument.
