Option and Install AUB21 or AUB24 ADU
SUMMARY: Set the ADU options for the system configuration (positions 1,2,7, and
8) with AB and CD set to pre-service and unequipped (positions 3-6 open). Install
ADU, then BCU and verify no alarms. Remove ADU and set AB (and CD if required)
to equipped (positions 2 and 3). Reinstall ADU and disregard alarms.

Has the BCU been installed?
If NO, then continue with Step 2.
If YES, then proceed to Step 7.
2.
Get one AUB21 (Feature Package A) or AUB24 (Feature Package B, Mode 1
or Mode 2) and inspect for possible damage.
3.
Verify that fuse on ADU is not blown. If fuse is blown, get another ADU that
contains a good fuse.
4.
On AUB21 or AUB24 ADU option switch S2 (Figure 1), use an orange stick
(KS-6320, L1) or equivalent and set switch positions as follows:
• 1 - Away from number for protection switching or toward number for no
protection switching.
• 2 - On AUB21 away from number. On AUB24 away from number, unless
FPB Mode 2 (MC97771A1 BCU) application is being equipped (toward
number).
• 3 - Away from number.
• 4 - Away from number.
• 5 - Away from number.
• 6 - away from number.
• 7 - Away from number on AUB24. On AUB21, toward number if MISC1 is
to report a major alarm or toward number if MISC1 is to report a minor
alarm.
