Confirm that all Home 8 operation is shut down when the switch is pressed with a plunger
type switch or OFF position with the rotary type switch.
External Shutdown Switch Requirements

Must be listed or recognized as an “Emergency Stop Button,” “Emergency Stop Device," or an
“Emergency Stop Unit."
y
Must have an ON/OFF position.
y
Must have a clear ON/OFF position indicator.
y
Must be rated for outdoor use. (NEMA 3R or higher)
y
Should be installed externally in a readily accessible location, preferably by the utility meter.
y
The maximum length of the low voltage wire running from the switch to the SE Box should not
exceed 300 feet (90 m).
y
Should observe 12V, 0.1A ratings.
Please consider a switch or contact type when preparing the external shutdown switch.
