Before You Start

System requirements

You can use the printer in a networked environment and print from a PC
compatible computer running Windows or from a Macintosh computer.

With a Windows computer

The minimum hardware configuration required to use the printer with an IBM
PC or compatible includes:

• An IBM PC or compatible computer with a 386 processor or higher

• A mouse that is supported by Windows

• Microsoft Windows version 3.1 or later, Microsoft Windows 95, or Microsoft

Windows NT 4.0 (Intel version) or later

• Appropriate interface cables for your network or printer connection

With a Macintosh computer

The minimum hardware configuration required to use the printer with a
Macintosh computer is:

• Any Macintosh computer in the Macintosh II, Quadra, Centris, Performa, or

Power Macintosh families with EtherTalk Phase 2 installed

• Apple system software version 7.5 or greater

• Appropriate interface cables for your network and printer connection.
