Initial Setup from the control panel

This chapter describes how to configure the printer’s Setup options. The settings 
you specify in Setup determine user access to the printer, printing defaults applied 
to jobs, and general system settings. Some Setup options must be specified during 
an initial Setup from the printer’s control panel; these settings and others can be 
set, or reset, from Fiery WebSetup. 

Initial Setup from the control panel

Initial Setup for network printing must be performed using the control panel. 
After the initial Setup is complete, you can finish configuring Setup options from 
the control panel, or you can use Fiery WebSetup (see page 6-18). 

The general steps for performing Setup from the control panel are:

• Specify System Setup settings

• Specify Printer Setup settings

• Specify I/O Port Setup settings

• Specify Network Protocol settings (for networked printers only)

• Specify Network Service settings (for networked printers only)

Before you change any Setup options, it’s a good idea to print the current 
configuration settings, in case you need to restore these settings later. For 
information on printing a configuration page, see “Printing pages from the 
control panel” on page 2-18.

Use the following procedure to access the Setup menus from the control panel.
