description of the BiG PACK baler
As a drive, the BiG PACK baler requires a tractor with a power of 75 kW or higher.

The BIG PACK Baler is hooked into the hitch coupling or the swinging drawbar. The drawbar is
provided with height adjustment so that the BiG PACK baler can work horizontally.
The drive of the BIG PACK is made by a universal shaft, which transmits the torque coming
from the tractor through a flywheel (11) to a bevel spur gearbox (12). The maximum input speed
of 1100 rpm must not be exceeded, because this could cause the machine to be damaged.
The universal shaft is equipped at the tractor side with a wide angle joint. The operating
instructions intended for the universal shaft are located on the universal shaft.
Before the BiG Pack BALER is started up, the operating instructions of the universal shaft
should also be read. Shortening the universal shaft and any repair and maintenance work are
discussed here.
The 2 m (2.4 m) wide Pick-up (2) picks up the crops cleanly. A height-adjustable roller crop
guide (1) ensures trouble-free pick-up and helps to avoid clogging. The crop is conveyed by 2
auger conveyors (3), located on the left and right side of the Pick-up, to the cutting rotor (14)
over the blades (15) to the packer drum (13).
The Pick-up can be raised and lowered by the tractor hydraulics. The guide wheels of the Pick-
up are adjustable in height so that an optimum Pick-up height can be achieved for the pick-up.
The packer strips (4) fill the feed channel chamber. The crop is collected in the packer channel
due to the work of the packers. The filling level in the feed channel chamber is sensed by the
sensing rake (16). When a certain filling level is reached, the sensing rake is swung back and
the feeder strip takes over the further transport of the crop into the bale channel chamber.
The crop is pressed by the baling ram (6) in the bale channel chamber to form a highly
compacted big bale. The length and also the density of the big bales can be adjusted
continuously. Thus big bales can be generated according to widely differing requirements.
The baling ram force is controlled electronically by hydraulic cylinders (9) on the bale channel
chamber flaps. Once the set baling length is reached, the knotter mechanism is released by the
star wheel projecting into the bale channel chamber.

The BiG PACK 890 is equipped with 4
and the
BiG PACK 1270 and 1290 with 6 knotters (7). The big bales are unloaded over a bale chute
(10).
With the optional Multi Bale (BiG PACK 1270) design, the bale can be separated into as many
as nine smaller bales.
