MAINTENANCE

REPLACE CORROSION RESISTOR CARTRIDGE

4

(If equipped)

WARNING

The oil is at high temperature after the engine has been operated, so never replace the cartridge immedi-
ately after finishing operations.
Wait for the oil to cool down before replacing cartridge.

1.

Turn valve (1) at the top of the corrosion resistor fully to the
right to close it.

2.

Using a filter wrench, turn cartridge (2) to the left to remove
it.

3.

Install a new filter cartridge after coating oil on its sealing
face.

In the installation, turn the cartridge by two-thirds of one
turn after the packing surface comes to contact with the
sealing face of the cartridge stand.

A genuine Komatsu filter cartridge is recommended for
use.

4.

Turn valve (1) fully to the left to open it.

5.

Run the engine and check that there is no leakage of water
from the seal surface.
