KNX group objects for dynamic group creation
The KNX Sonos-Gateway s upports dynamic group creation for Sonos devices . You can us e the bus to influ-
ence the integration of individual s laves into a mas ter-s lave group us ing the group objects lis ted below.
Important information
•
Up to five s laves can be parametris ed per mas ter to form a mas ter-s lave group (s ee
<n>>> tab (define mas ter-s lave groups ), p. 71) which can be dynamically as s igned to the mas ter as a
s lave us ing group objects /KNX group telegrams.
•
The s laves in a mas ter-s lave Group are not automatically active: You need to s witch the s laves indi-
vidually us ing 1-bit group objects to the zone. This gives you even greater flexibility. For example, you
can s witch off the "Doorbell" announcement for the Sonos device in the child's room when they are
taking an afternoon nap.
•
The default volume control and s tatus res pons e are available for a master and each of its s lave.
•
The relative volume control for a mas ter-s lave group is implemented us ing the group volume.
•
The connection s tatus is s aved to the Sonos s ys tem only. If the auxiliary voltage fails and then re-
turns , the KNX Sonos -Gateway reads the connection s tatus in the Sonos s ystem again via UPnP.
•
Automatic detection (master IP addres s 0.0.0.0) must not be parametris ed, s o that group support
can be us ed.
You can us e the KNX Sonos-Gateway to ass ign up to five s laves to a master-s lave group. The s laves within
the mas ter-s lave group have an offs et of 10 each.
Example 5: Slave communication objects' offset
Mas ter-s lave group 1 Slave 1 Communication object number 40
Communication object number s lave 1 + offset 10 = mas ter-s lave group 1 s lave 2 Communication object
number is 50.
