Sonos as a smart door gong
This application trans forms the Sonos sound s ys tem into a smart door gong.
Two vers ions are pos s ible:
•
The volume in one or more (all) groups is reduced, and the s tandard door gong can then be heard in
the hous e.
•
Mus ic playback in one or more (all) groups is s topped, and a door s ignal is heard in thes e groups .

The s ignal is a Sonos playlis t, which has been configured as an announcement in a playlis t
entry. The file with the s ound may be on the microSD card in your KNX Sonos Gateway or on
another releas e. Create the Sonos playlis t with the official Sonos s oftware.

This loading occurs during the day in the entire hous e. At night, the s ignal is only heard in
the parent zone, s o as not to dis turb s leeping children.

Even if you're lis tening to loud mus ic, you'll always know there's a gues t at the door because
the mus ic playback is interrupted for the door gong. The original mus ic playback is res umed
once the gong has finis hed.
