Description
Purpose
The purpose of this filter is to protect the operator’s eyes in the unlikely
event of LASER radiation penetrating this section of the microscope
optical path.
Operation
This filter is an optical glass that is opaque to 1.064 nm wavelength
LASER radiation. To the human eye, it appears light grey in colour and
perfectly transparent. It is located inside the microscope (Ref. A,
Figure 3)
Since the glass is opaque to LASER radiation at a wavelength of 1.064
nm, it prevents the LASER radiation generated by the welding machine
from passing, in either direction.

chamber inspection window and is designed to be easily replaceable.
