Defrosting
Defrosting of the device is automatic and regulated by an electronic thermostat. In
the case of a need to carry out additional defrosting of the unit, e.g. due to high
ambient humidity, insufficiently cooled goods loaded into the unit, etc., it is possible
to activate manual defrosting by pressing a button on the electronic thermostat
panel. The water resulting from thawing the evaporator drains through holes in the
bottom into the tray. The patency of the drain holes should be checked periodically
and the
resulting debris removed as necessary. Failure to do so may result in
equipment failure.
The unit must be completely defrosted and washed once a month (see chapter
7)!
Do not use mechanical means or means other than those recommended by
the manufacturer to speed up the defrosting process.
Using heat-emitting tools with open heating elements that produce sparks
during operation, burners and other tools with an open flame for the purpose
of accelerating the defrosting process shall be prohibited.
If the device is defrosted manually, excess water must be successively removed
from the condensate tray to prevent flooding of the device and its surroundings.
6.5
Night curtain (equipment option)
It is recommended to block the open area of the device when the shop is closed for
the purpose of decreasing energy use and for ensuring good hygienic conditions
for the displayed products. Using a curtain allows to reduce the dispersion of cold
air and consequently reduces energy consumption. Certain units come with a night
curtain as standard
.
7.
MAINTENANCE AND PERIODIC INSPECTIONS
Food products are very delicate and can easily be contaminated by various
bacteria, therefore it is exceptionally important to comply with hygiene standards.
Small
-
sized products spilling out of damaged packaging can get to the bottom of
the tank and clog the water drainage holes. Cleaning the unit can be divided into
two phases:
External cleaning (daily / once a week),
Internal cleaning (daily for refrigeration units, once a week for
freezer
units).
