By default an interface does not listen to routing information.

18.6 Specifying the Send RIP Version
By default, the SmartWare application software sends RIP 1compatible packets. The SmartWare
application software allows sending RIP version 1, version 1 compatible or version 2 packets.
Alternatively, you can explicitly configure the RIP version to be sent with the last command
argument as following:
