8. Install the simple-swap hard disk drives that you removed from the hard disk
drive cage (see “Replacing a simple-swap hard disk drive” on page 217).
9. Install the air baffle (see “Replacing the air baffle” on page 185).
10. Install the side cover (see “Replacing the side cover” on page 182).
11. Stand the server back up in its vertical position.
12. Install bezel (see “Replacing the bezel” on page 188).
13. Reconnect the external cables and power cords; then, turn on the attached
devices and turn on the server.
Replacing software RAID simple-swap hard disk drive backplate
with hardware RAID simple-swap hard disk drive backplate
This procedure applies only to 4U server models with non-hot-swap power
supplies.
To replace the software RAID simple-swap hard disk drive backplate with
hardware RAID simple-swap hard disk drive backplate, complete the following
steps:
1. Read the safety information in “Safety” on page vii and “Installation
guidelines” on page 35.
2. Turn off the server and all attached devices; then, disconnect all power cords
and external cables.
3.
Remove the simple-swap backplate (see “Removing the simple-swap
backplate” on page 233).
4. Align the bottom edge of the simple-swap backplate between the tabs and the
bottom edge of the hard disk drive cage (area colored in grey), then rotate the
backplate toward the hard disk drive cage and slide it inwards.
