Using the System Unit

Using the 1/4-Inch Tape Drive

The Quarter-Inch Cartridge (QIC) tape has the following characteristics:

•

Capacity 2.5GB

•

Media data transfer 300KB/sec

•

Form factor 5 1/4 Inch Half Size

•

Read/write compatibility with QIC 120, 150, 525, 1000 and 2GB media

Functions

Unload Button

Front Panel

Status Light

The Unload button is used to unload the tape from the drive.

The status light has no color when it is off or when the drive is waiting in stand-by mode.
When the status light is on, it can be either green or red. The colors indicate the status of
the drive as follows:

Green

The green light is on when the drive is in normal operation.

Red

The red light is on when there is a problem with the drive.
